I am so pleased to tell you that my book, Libraries amid Protest, is now available through the University of Massachusetts Press. To the activists and librarians who shared their stories: thank you. The work you’re doing matters a great deal.

  1. I just bought this! I can’t wait to read it. I was a lead librarian at the Occupy Portland Library and am starting my dissertation project around this topic. Thanks for doing this work.

    1. Thanks for the comment–thank YOU for doing the work of librarianship at the Occupy sites! As your diss ramps up, if you ever want to chat, I would love to hear more about your research. Also, the book was finished before protest libraries appeared in India. In case this hasn’t crossed your path yet, here’s a short talk about them: https://oxfordlibrary700.org/videos , then scroll down to Nilanjana Roy’s talk.
