Libraries amid Protest now available

I am so pleased to tell you that my book, Libraries amid Protest, is now available through the University of Massachusetts Press. To the activists and librarians who shared their stories: thank you. The work you’re doing matters a great deal.

  1. I just bought this! I can’t wait to read it. I was a lead librarian at the Occupy Portland Library and am starting my dissertation project around this topic. Thanks for doing this work.

    • Thanks for the comment–thank YOU for doing the work of librarianship at the Occupy sites! As your diss ramps up, if you ever want to chat, I would love to hear more about your research. Also, the book was finished before protest libraries appeared in India. In case this hasn’t crossed your path yet, here’s a short talk about them: https://oxfordlibrary700.org/videos , then scroll down to Nilanjana Roy’s talk.
